THE POETRY OF: FLOWERS

To see a sea of flowers
would be quite lovely.

So lovely, that I would like to pluck the flowers from the sea
and pop them in a jar of salt to rock to-and-fro as I please.

Perhaps the sea of flowers would be loveliest for me,
and I should take the sea with me in my pocket.

But if my pocket was too small for the sea,
perhaps I could catch a cloud and we could float together
by the sea of flowers in all our loveliness.

But if the cloud could not be caught,
perhaps I could feel the rain upon my skin and
watch the sea of flowers from moonlit eyes.

Perhaps these moments could be captured in photographs,
and slowly, slowly, I could create my own sea of flowers.

And with these photographs, I could write the poetry of flowers
and capture them forever.

A lovely sea of flowers: daffodils, daisies, poppies and alyssum.
